Dual Priority Scheduling Based on Power Adjustment Context Switching for Ubiquitous Sensor Network
نویسندگان
چکیده
The Ubiquitous sensor network (USN) node is required to operate for several months with limited system resources such as memory and power. The typical USN node is in the active state for less than 1% of its several month lifetime and waits in the inactive state for the remaining 99% of its lifetime. This paper suggests a power adjustment dual priority scheduler (PA-DPS) that offers low power consumption while meeting the USN requirements by estimating power consumption in the USN node. PADPS has been designed based on the event-driven approach and the dualpriority scheduling structure, which has been conventionally suggested in the real-time system field. From experimental results, PA-DPS reduced the inactive mode current up to 40% under the 1% duty cycle. key words: Ubiquitous sensor networks, dual priority schedule, operating system

Priority Based Congestion Detection and Avoidance in Wireless Sensor Networks
The primary objective of event driven wireless sensor networks is to route the detected or monitored data at the earliest to the base station depending on their degree of priority since the data generated in a sensor network has different importance. In order to avoid indiscriminate dropping of data during congestion we propose a novel congestion protocol named priority based congestion detecti...
متن کاملA JOINT DUTY CYCLE SCHEDULING AND ENERGY AWARE ROUTING APPROACH BASED ON EVOLUTIONARY GAME FOR WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKS
Network throughput and energy conservation are two conflicting important performance metrics for wireless sensor networks. Since these two objectives are in conflict with each other, it is difficult to achieve them simultaneously. In this paper, a joint duty cycle scheduling and energy aware routing approach is proposed based on evolutionary game theory which is called DREG. Making a trade-off ...

Advances in low-power electronics design and wireless communication have enabled the development of low cost, low power micro-sensor nodes. These sensor nodes are capable of sensing, processing and forwarding which have many applications such as underwater networks. In underwater wireless sensor networks (UWSNs) applications, sensors which are placed in underwater environments and predicted ena...
متن کاملA novel sleep/wakeup power management in wireless sensor network: A Fuzzy TOPSIS approach
The wireless sensor network (WSN) is typically comprised many tiny nodes equipped with processors, sender/receiver antenna and limited battery in which it is impossible or not economic to recharge. Meanwhile, network lifespan is one of the most critical issues because of limited and not renewal used battery in WSN. Several mechanisms have been proposed to prolong network lifespan such as LEACH,...
